Best Paper Award - The Asian Journal of Shipping and Logistics 2021-08-27
It is our great pleasure to receive the best paper award of the 14th International Conference of Asian Shipping and Logistics (ICASL 2021), held on August 27th, 2021 in Seoul, Korea. The topic is "Vulnerability analysis of cruise shipping in ASEAN countries facing COVID-19 pandemic". Corona-19 has impacted logistics and supply chain. Hence it has thrown more opportunities for researchers to see its impact on multiple dimensions of logistics and supply chain such as flow of materials, availability of goods, lead time, workforce availability, revenue, and profitability. Global supply chain has been impacted severely. More research opportunities in terms of application of supply chain digitalisation and application of Industry 4.0 (AI, IoT, BDA, Blockchain etc.) in logistics and supply chain. In 2020, the recession of the global economy is very likely. In 2-3 months, the global economic crisis may appear the largest since the 1980s and in some countries the largest since World War II. One of the factors that significantly reduces the scale of production is not only the rapidly falling demand for specific services and products, but also the suspension of production processes for specific ranges of components, semi-finished products, spare parts, in countries where the scale of Coronavirus infection is high. As a result, logistics chains break off, specific components and semi-finished products are not delivered on time to plants, assembly plants where final products are produced in other countries.
